BSHP launches new Asset Management Group (BAM)

BSHP are excited to announce the launch of a new BSHP thematic of work – BSHP Asset Management Group (BAM Group). The group held their initial meeting in October 2025, with a following up meeting in January; discussing what the partnership will look to achieve in the future and where are our priorities are.

Formed to strengthen joint working around asset management, regeneration and long‑term investment, the BAM Group will bring together locally based housing associations to share expertise, align priorities and explore opportunities to improve the quality of homes and places across Birmingham. The group already have some innovative ideas of how we can work more collaboratively in the City and BSHP colleagues are excited for the future ahead.

Birmingham Social Housing Partnership Lead Emma Peniket, involved in establishing the group commented-

‘As a partnership we have been discussing the need for a platform for our BSHP members to work more closely around asset management and regeneration in Birmingham. Birmingham is a thriving city, with major regeneration projects in the pipeline. With improved transport links, ambitious investments and a vibrant and diverse community, there is no better time for this group to be developed. It has been really exciting to be involved in initial discussions with our members to assess what the appetite is to be involved in this work.  Our BSHP members manage around 100,000 homes across the City, and bringing this collective strength together is incredibly powerful. I am excited to bring our members together in this format, and to see what we can achieve together in the months and years ahead’.

“It’s great to see colleagues from across the region coming together with a shared commitment to improving the quality of our housing stock. This collaborative approach gives us real momentum, and I’m looking forward to working closely with our partners as we take this forward.”
