BSHP supports cleanup in the City
Over the course of the last week, a number of our BSHP members have pulled together in communities and across the City to support with providing resources during the bin strike. Teams have helped to tidy up communities, remove rubbish and ensure communities are as safe as possible during this difficult time.
As ongoing bin strikes continue to impact communities across the city, residents of Pioneer Group’s Castle Vale have seen significant support from the estate’s caretaking team, working tirelessly to maintain cleanliness and safety.
In collaboration with the Birmingham City Council (BCC) waste services team, the caretakers have secured additional tipping licenses at no extra cost to help residents manage waste during the disruption. This proactive measure has not only contributed to keeping the estate clean and tidy but has also played a crucial role in safeguarding high-rise blocks of flats from fire hazards.
To ensure the estate remains in top condition, additional caretaking resources are been deployed over the Easter weekend, further supporting the dedicated community team.
The ongoing partnership between providers, BCC waste services, and the local community highlights the importance of collaboration in tackling unexpected challenges and ensuring the well-being of residents.
A huge thanks to our housing providers whose teams are providing an increased level of response at the moment.
