Construction colleagues attend Streetly Academy careers day
Colleagues from our construction team attended a careers event to give pupils at Streetly Academy, in North Birmingham, an insight into future employment opportunities.
Staffing our stall were Stephanie Charlton, Quantity Surveyor; Leeba Babu, Assistant Quantity Surveyor; Tim Bircher, Technical Project Manager; and Christopher Williams, Site Supervisor.
The event was open to year groups 7–13, meaning that more than 1,000 young people had the opportunity to engage with local employers.
Stephanie Charlton, Quantity Surveyor, said:
“It was brilliant to be back at Streetly Academy and to be able to share insights into the benefits that a career in construction can bring.
“I started working with the school in a previous role at GSA, and it was a great feeling to be able to return as a fully qualified Quantity Surveyor. A big thank you to my colleagues in the Construction Team who supported the event.”
At the event, Chris Williams, Site Supervisor, was able to share his experiences of working while studying for a Level 4 qualification in Construction Management.
This is the third time we’ve supported the careers day at Streetly Academy.
