The Pioneer Group and Partners Deliver Lasting Social Value in Castle Vale

27 May, 2026

The Pioneer Group is proud to highlight the positive social value delivered in Castle Vale through partnerships with Nationwide Windows and Doors and Housing Plus Group.

Going beyond their core roles, both organisations have supported local environmental projects and improved community spaces.

Supporting Local Wildlife

Working with our community partner Community Environmental Trust (CET), both organisations contributed to CET’s Swift Project. Nationwide Windows and Doors installed 11 swift nesting boxes, whilst Housing Plus Group installed a further 15 boxes. This brings a total of 26 nesting boxes installed across homes, schools and community sites in the Vale.

The project aims to reintroduce swifts, a threatened species, back to the local wildlife and restore their population.

“The Swift Project has been a fantastic opportunity for the Castle Vale community to come together and support local wildlife. This partnership has been key to the project’s success, demonstrating how working together can create environmental impact while strengthening community pride in the area.”
Alicia Grande

Project Manager at Community Environmental Trust

“It’s fantastic to see how even small acts, like installing these nesting boxes, can have a big impact on local biodiversity. By providing the time for installation, we’ve helped create safe habitats where local wildlife in Castle Vale can thrive. I look forward to seeing the swifts call this place home—it’s a great example of how our Social Value programme, in partnership with The Pioneer Group, genuinely improves local communities.”

Enhancing Community Spaces

Housing Group Plus has also upgraded shared facilities at our resident scheme Phoenix Court. They installed a new washing machine, dishwasher, sink, as well as a cooker funded by Nationwide Windows and Doors. These improvements will provide residents with a better shared space, encouraging connection and community cohesion.

“As part of our ongoing Repairs and Maintenance contract with The Pioneer Group, we have remained committed to delivering meaningful social value projects across the Castle Vale estate since the contract began. We were delighted to support the latest initiatives, including the installation of nesting boxes for the Community Environmental Trust’s swift project, as well as the creation of a new communal kitchen at Phoenix Court.”

These initiatives reflect the commitment of Pioneer Group and its partners to go beyond core services and invest in projects that make a genuine difference to residents’ lives.

“We are incredibly proud of the positive impact achieved through the collaborative social value initiatives delivered by The Wrekin Housing Group and Nationwide Windows and Doors. This work demonstrates strong social value by delivering meaningful environmental improvements, enhancing community cohesion, and creating lasting benefits for our residents and local wildlife.”
