We’re looking for people who share our commitment to great housing, thriving communities and strong governance.
About the Role
As a Board Member, you’ll help shape our strategic direction, providing oversight, challenge and support to ensure we deliver on our purpose and remain financially strong, well governed and focused on what matters most to our customers.
We currently have two vacancies on our Board and are particularly interested in hearing from people with experience in one or more of the following areas:
- AI, digital technology, data insight or cyber security
- Housing development and growth
- Strong knowledge of, or connections within, the communities we serve
- Previous Board or Non-Executive Director experience
Remuneration
These are voluntary positions. However, we will reimburse reasonable expenses incurred while carrying out Board duties.
Time Commitments
Board Members typically commit around 15 days per year. For those serving on a committee, the commitment is approximately 23 days per year. You should also allow additional time during your induction period while becoming familiar with the organisation and your responsibilities.
Learning and Development
We are committed to helping Board Members succeed in their role. You’ll take part in a structured induction programme and have access to ongoing learning and development opportunities designed to strengthen your governance knowledge and leadership skills. A Board mentor can also be provided where helpful.
Meetings
Board business is conducted through formal meetings held throughout the year. We also hold an annual strategic away day, which all Board Members are expected to attend. Meetings can be attended in person, online or in a hybrid format to provide flexibility.
Term of Office
Board Members are appointed for an initial term of three years and may serve a maximum of two terms, up to six years in total. Reappointment is subject to satisfactory performance, which is reviewed annually through our Board appraisal process.
